CAREER SUMMARY
Lachlan is a uniquely qualified Internet Solutions consultant. He has extensive experience as a web developer working for companies like Amazon.com and NTT Japan. He is also the co-founder of web start-up Mintd.com.
Following his graduation from The University of Melbourne (BA Comm/Arts) he moved to Tokyo, Japan where he worked for Amazon.com and NTT Docomo. He is fluent in Japanese and has a extensive cultural knowledge and business experience in Japan.
Lachlan left Japan to live in Thailand where he worked as a freelance web-developer. There he produced web-sites for Japanese pop-stars and Television shows amongst others.
Returning to Australia in 2004 he continued his development career with Hansen Technologies in Melbourne. He has recently established his own consulting business Kennedia Consulting. He has received notable acclaim for his popular Mac Dashboard Widget Basecamp Widget.
He has recently co-founded Colossus Technologies and launched a revolutionary Web 2.0 community driven marketplace website called Mintd.com.

Owner of web consulting business Kennedia Consulting. In 2006 and 2007 Kennedia Consulting developed and deployed a number of large scale and high profile websites. It also released a Mac OSX Dashboard Widget which was downloaded 10,000 times in the first week and met much acclaim. To date it has been download about 25,000 times.

Hansen Technologies

Full-time position as a senior developer for the HUB (Hansen Unified Billing) .Net Web-Application. An enterprise grade Energy Network and Billing system. [url] Roles on the position included:
Consultant to Toshiba (Tokyo Japan) for project to provide the HUB billing system to the Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO).
Team Leader for TEPCO project. (Located in both Melbourne & Tokyo).
Manager of a intranet renovation project to improve adoption of the company’s intranet and process efficiencies.
Led User-Interface and usability development and design initiative for the HUB web application.
Developed numerous web-applications to automate the configuration and creation of the HUB web application.

Amazon Japan K.K.
Tokyo 2002 - 2003
Full-time position as a Web-developer, part of the Amazon Japan's retail website production team. [url]
Position involved development, deployment, trouble-shooting and maintenance of one of the world's most trafficked and highest earning websites.
Added value to internal work processes by identifying time-consuming bottle-necks in work-flows and developed a suite of web-based solutions to automate these tasks.
Work was executed in a multi-lingual environment were the ability to present ideas and concepts in Japanese and English was essential.
NTT Docomo
Tokyo 2001 - 2002
Contracted as lead developer to create a server driven back-office music search engine. The application managed the meta-data of music offered as part of the mobile carrier’s 3G network roll-out. Meta-data was sent from the music labels to Docomo. The system would receive and catalog the data making it available to Docomo employees to find and manage the data. The application was successfully delivered and used in production through the life-span of the networks 3G music offering.
NTT Learning Systems
Tokyo 2000 - 2001
Programmer for an XML Research group working for the Japanese government project J-Stage [url].
Developed online MathML rendering system to convert Mathematical equations from TeX/LaTeX to MathML or images for display in browsers. This involved XML, XSLT, and MathML.
Developed GUI based applications with Visual Basic 6 to batch convert SGML and TeX files containing TeX/LaTeX mathematical equations into images.
Developed and deployed a test XML data repository and search engine with eXelon. This involved XML, XSLT, XPath and Xquery.
